Collected 3,510 items from the public, not including Bric-a-Brac, visiting 1,260 homes.

Redistributed 2,507 items to the public (not including electrical items and Bric-a-Brac), visiting 1,210 homes.

Tested and redistributed 250 electrical items.

Passed on over 5,000 Bric-a-Brac items.

Driven our van approximately 6,500 miles to collect and deliver items.

Worked 10,909 voluntary hours, which at £5.52 per hour = £60,217.68p.

Given the opportunity for 24 people to work with us as volunteers and part of
local work schemes, and helped some to full-time employment elsewhere.

Where does the money go?

The Project gets donations from the items that it passes on for re-use.
This money is used to pay for things like:

Fuel for the van,

Van maintenance, repair, and eventual replacement,

Van tax and insurance,

Safety gear,

Volunteers' expenses,

Administration costs,

Staff salaries,

Warehouse maintenance,

Utility bills,

Insurance,

Melton Borough Council kindly pay a grant to cover half the Project's rent.

Rutland County Council has begun to make an annual payment of £5,000
to the
project for collections and deliveries across that county.

There are five part-time members of staff who run the Project along with volunteer
assistance, there are currently 23 registered volunteers working with the Project.

The Project Manager is part funded by the Leicestershire County Council for 30 hours per week.

The Administrator/Trainer is funded by the Project for 6 hours per week.

The part time Driver/Supervisor is funded from Project generated income for 30 hours per week.

The Van Assistant is funded by grants from the Lloyds TSB Charitable Foundation and
Melton Mowbray Building Society Charitable Trust for 20 hours per week.

The part time Cleaner is funded by the Project for 4 hours per week.

A significant proportion of our costs go to keeping the van serviced and fuelled for deliveries and collections.

Indeed, without the van there would be no Project!
